My 2101 stopped working. Removing the cover revealed a white wire leading from the front input jack, but not connected to anything I am sure this is the culprit. Could someone take a decent digital photogrph of the inside of there 2101 for me? Thanks!

Thanks Graham, I couldn't see in enough detail so I posted shots oh my troubled 2101. There are in a directory in the photo section called: White Wire Disconnected. here is the URL: http://launch.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/gsp-2101/photos/browse/9694 If anyone out there can tell me where this wire should be connected that would be great, --- In gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com, "Graham Pearson" <me@...> wrote: > > There's a picture of the inside of a GSP-2101 on the other Yahoo Group - GSP2101. > Here the link to the picture in the Photos section: > http://launch.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/GSP2101/photos/view/6fd8?b=1 > > If this is insufficient detail, let us know which area of the inside you are specifically interested in - top-right, bottom-left, etc.

I'll try and open up one of mine tomorrow. In the meantime I wouldn't fire that thing up since that wire appears to be coming from the Mains and could do some harm if not properly connected.

that would be great if you could help out with some images and descript of what you see in yours. Thanks, --- In gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com, "dunkin_donut3" <dunkin_donut3@...> wrote:

Hi Mike, That is definitely the culprit...it is the "live" from the mains to the PC board before going to the zero ohms resistor then to the step down transformer for the 2101. The connector has broke off from your 2101 PC board, it should be on the board marked as "QT1".Do not attempt to turn it on before repairingthe unit as if the exposed part comes in contact with the body of the unit you might see some sparks flying around or worst you could get electrocuted. I have added a photo to the album you uploaded here in this Board of where the wire should be.So check it out and good luck.Btw if you are well in soldering parts its a fast repair DIY. http://launch.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/gsp-2101/photos/view/9694?b=5 belphedues --- In gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com, "Mike" <mswift1974@...> wrote: > > that would be great if you could help out with some images and > descript of what you see in yours. > > > Thanks, > > > --- In gsp-2101@...m, "dunkin_donut3" <dunkin_donut3@> > wrote: > > > > I'll try and open up one of mine tomorrow. The white wire must be mounted on the left small PCB where the power switch is soldered. There was a lug, at position QT1. It is broken away. So solder the wire to the solder via "QT1". 2. The transformer is loose. fasten it with a screw and a nut! 3. Resistor R522 is blown! its a 10 ohms 1/4 watt carbon film. If you would replace it, it will probably blow again. Before you replace it you'll need to remove the defective part in the +-12V circurity. It can be many parts so you have to measure.
