Thanks to all of you for making me feel welcome! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

"I'm not sure what you're having trouble with on the N. Gates,"

Well, actually it has a lot to do with my history... I have an electro/mechanical pump implanted in my right front lower abdomen. Every 1.8 seconds it pumps a small amount of a medication (baclofen, which helps keep severe "spasticity" in my body to a minimum) via a catheter into my spinal column. Obviously the manufacturers of the pump did not shield it correctly because every 1.8 seconds my guitar pickups pick up the actuator... which sort of sounds like a physical tap on the pickup. Depending on guitar, pickup(s) selected, volume and tone settings it can be just an irritating little "blip" or sound like a reverberating klaxon! Sooo, it mostly just makes it's noise and the entire guitar sound just dies suddenly or it sounds and keeps the gate open allowing all sorts of bizzare "breaking up" sounds (especially if any distortion is in use). Needless to say I have no idea how to create a noise gate that will deal with it effectively. Also, no, I
can't reasonably wear the 48.8 pound lead x-ray tech shield... and still play!

"as a 2 yr plus "daily" user, I dont think messing w/ the mixers is
anything but for real the experienced. That would proly be the last
area to tackle, IMHO. Best of luck, Mark"

Thank you, thank you, thank you... try to get a grip on them was killing me!

Also, thanks Hari for letting me know about Grahams midi program - that sounds like a real winner.

Cheers!
David
