Buggy 2101..

Buggy 2101..

upgrade it.. just do it, you'll be happier with it..

make sure that you reseat your tubes, replace the coin battery with a
new one (i think that this is your main problem), and write the date of
change on a piece of tape and tape that inside the top lid.. these
batteries only last about 3 years.. some can last up to 5 years, but 3
is the average..

you can see of there is any DIP creep, this is where the Dual Inline
Package chips creep out of their sockets, gently but firmly press them
down into the sockets.. they work their way out due to heat..

go to Dieter's site and do the clock speed upgrade also..

he is a very valuable resource to the 2101 community..

Jim.

Well... My GSP 2101 is from August '95 with original battery and still works perfectly well... And it runs almost everyday.

My 2101 is circa '95 and yes it's the same old battery and still works fine also. But if your having problems, then a simple battery swap might cure it. A bad battery is one of the more common cause of problems that I've seen among us 2101 users.
Good Luck ! Lets us know if something does work for you.
