Metheny signature sound

2003-09-19 by rene1711

Hi

As i know pat metheny uses ore used a gsp 2101 for his recordings
and gigs. I tried to achieve his signature sound but i am not really
happy with the result.

Any help or patches would be appreciated.

Rainer

hi,
as I know, pat uses only the unit to split the sound and warm it up.
the typical pm-tone comes from a lexicon delay 93 (known as prime
time) - this is a digital delay with a vco filter to get this
sweeping sound. i looked for this tone really a long time too until
i saw the lexicon unit in his rack.
i play both with an ibanez pm-100 and get this tone. you should use
a solid state amp. all you finally need is a decent good reverb
(maybe from lexicon too).
best regards from germany,
michael
