I build them- because they are very hard to get in Germany- and if you see them in a store, they are very expensive (about 50 Euro) . If anybody is interestet, I will post the schematic. It's only a hand- painted schematic.

The simplest process is:

1. Connect MIDI IN and OUT to your computer (via an galvanic seperated MIDI-
Box to the game- port on your soundcard or directly to the MIDI- PORTS on
the soundcard).
2. Switch on the 2101
3. Start the programm you find attached.
4. Choose the path for the Bulk- dump in the small window "Dump To File"
5. Press the button "Receive Bulk Dump"
6. Wait till the 2101 has transmitted the bulk, then compare the stored
bytes with the transmitted bytes of the 2101. You find the number of bytes
in the MIDI - menu at your 2101 in the section "send bulk bump". It is
important to compare the stored bulk with the transmitted bulk. Sometimes
there are transmitting- errors!

Let me know if it doesn't work

PS. If you switch a dummy- battery parallel to the original battery while
changing it, the memory won't get lost.

Cheers
Dieter

Hi all!
I want to save my 2101 patches before batteries dies. How can I make a bulk
dump into my computer? Do I need any specific software? Is there any place
that shows, step by step, the process?
Thanks a lot

Oh Sorry, 1000 times!
I have never thought about that... because I don't pay for emails, Downloads and Internet. (I'm sponsored).
But I swear- I will never send big attachements again.
SORRY. It won't happen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually for large files to share, everyone can upload them in the
files section of the site for everyone to log in and see :)

When you log in to the egroups site, you will see a tool bar on the
left that looks like:

Home
Messages
Post
Chat
Files
Bookmark

Just click on Files and upload it. :)

the direct link to the files section is

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gsp-2101/files/

Just realized I said "tool bar". Anyway, it's not a tool bar. It's
almost like a frame on the left in the box. Can't miss it......
