2101 Edit Program - MIDI Dump Issue

2101 Edit Program - MIDI Dump Issue

2005-01-15 by Jeff

Hi all,

I have tried posting this issue several times, and every time I do,
instead of getting any sort of real response, my question is treated
like some attack on the software author. Therefore, first, I want
to say that I think this program is awesome, and has allowed me to
program new algorithms into my 2101, where before, restricted by the
units text display, I could not. Now, I can design the new
algorithms on my PC, and then manually write them to the unit with
the graphical representation as my guide.

Now, my question: Has anyone successfully been able to dump
algorithms to the 2101, via midi, using the 2101 Edit 1.1 program,
from a fast Windows XP system? My set-up attempts to complete the
dump, but ultimately fails. I have tried different keystroke
timings in the 2101 Edit 1.1 options, but that does not seem to
help.

Currently, I am happy to use the program to visually design new
algorithms, but I would like to know if anyone else has had success
using it to interface directly with the 2101. By the way, the
remote control program GSPControl 1.0 also will not work with my
current set-up. Any comments regarding that would also be
appreciated.

I downloaded it to try it out - and NO it would not dump - it just
hung up.

I am also using winXP, and I believe the website said it might not
work on xp so that explains that.

I wish there was a program where I could create algos & adjust
parameters all in real time ie be able to test the sound as I was
creating them, but I guess Im living in a perfect world LOL

Looks like users of XP are up a creek without a paddle when it comes
to graphically creating algos.

Bummer!
