Amidst all the ROM happenings on the list tonight, I opened up my K5M because I figured 18 years was a pretty good service life for an EPROM. My original factory chip read in on my programmer and the file from the group both md5sum to 26e2ecadadf6ca03c23bc3d85f37ee1e That gave me some confidence- I used a standard TI 27C512-15 in place of the original Hitachi. It appears to work well. RAM Patches remained intact. The original Hitachi HN27C512G-20 PGM 12.5V dated 8926 was labeled: KAWAI P020H [K5m} Now, I\ufffdm going to be interested in replacing the display with something that I can see more clearly. Cheers, [w] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
