Yahoo announcement

This is insane from Yahoo:
All members please note.

Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.

That is very unfortunate. The Yahoo article you linked says that "Conversations" is a feature that is going away -- do you know if there is any way to package the conversations into a downloadable archive? There is a lot of valuable information, and especially those users (myself included) who have joined later on don't have the original messages in their e-mail inboxes.

There appear to be some archivers. See https://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Yahoo!_Groups
There probably won't be time to coordinate a salvaging effort here - I suggest we proceed on our own, and publish success via other channels - if we drop archives on Github, Google Drive and the like, it will be possible to find them in all relevant search engines.

Future K5 relevant content from me will probably end up in the Facebook "Vintage Synth Repair And Mods." and "Music Gear Display Retrofits" groups, on the Analogue Heaven mailing list, the electro-music.com forum and some other forums and lists...

See you somewehere else...

Hi all, the group with members and message archive can be migrated to groups.io, but files will have to be moved somewhere else (ex GitHub)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
