LCD Backlight and Inverter

Hi everyone, I've got other news: there are a few updates to work on about reconditioning the K5, since our last discussion about this are as old as 2004. First, I just noticed that Night Launch (http://nightlaunch.com/) doesn't exist anymore. Sadly, they were the only cheap LCD backlight source we had. Fortunately, I think I found a replacement, which is probably the exact thing Night Launch was selling. It's called Flatlite, it's an EL light in a roll, and can be bought by the foot at http://luminousfilm.com/ . At about $15/ft, it's probably the cheapest option available, considering places like Telesis sell the K5 backlight for about $35. There seem to be quite a few colors available as well. Now, for those that also need a new inverter, there's one available for about $10 from DigiKey. You can read more details about Jeffrey Nelson's experience here : http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/k5synth/message/307 http://www.kfuenf.org/en/k5_hackpage.html That's all! Antoine
