Re: K1 and Rhythm Rascal

2006-07-13 by gazzanewpy

Thanks for the reply. In fact I have now found that if I import the
drum pattern into CuBase it is easier and more realistic to use a
VST to create the sound. However, I have now found that CuBase has a
VST and editors that allow the drum pattern to be created within the
program itself; therefore no need for Rhythm Rascal!

I have the K1 connected to my MIDI ports on the breakout box on my
audio card (DMX 6Fire), I am using CuBase as my music editor and to
be honest now have found that the VSTs give me the range of sounds
without the need to edit the K1 at all. I do occasionally use the
built in sounds but they are a little dated in many cases and I have
now found a whole host of free VSTs that have fantastic sounds.

As a continuation of this free theme, there is a piece of software
called Kristal that is a really good (legally) free music editor. At
present it does not have MIDI channels (and so is why I moved to
CuBase) but otherwise it is excellent.

I know this does not answer your questions directly but hope it
helps in some small way. :)
