Hiya,I have the original K1 and a K1m,when my K1m went screwy I just changed the battery, regarding the K1 ,the original patches are in rom so you won't lose those,I can't say I know much about the K1 II but it must be similar,my K1 was damaged in the post the right end was smashed to pieces and wasn't working at all so I took it all to bits and unplugged and reseated all the plugs and voila it worked they seem to be pretty bullet proof apart from the keyboard/case which I had to glue back together, the top 4 keys still don't work properly but it works. Have you tried a more powerful PSU? A regulated 1amp PSU will cost you peanuts on ebay or similar for the K1II it will just draw what it needs.
