Yes, I noticed (almost) the same thing, on the "standard" (100k) mod. I did the mod, and I hear a noticeble cutoff when I twist the knob, but I'm not sure about the resonance (although my friend I have the studio with assures me HE CAN hear it :), I wouldn't put my hand in the fire claiming I hear the difference). Also, guys, i have 2 q's, I just downloaded the definitions for the poly 800 (from the website) for sound quest's Midi Quest program. Since I know the poly 800 is quite limited in midi, it seemed pretty strange to me, that they support it. I never got this program to edit anything on any synth, though, so I'm not sure it EVEN works at all. Then, I have made the "standard" mod with some cheap, plastic pots. I just couldn't buy metal ones, there weren't any at the moment. Is that very bad? I mean, if i ever decide to do the slayer moog mod with the 100k, should I wait 'till I find some metal ones? And third, although probably a stupid question. I have a DW 8000, also, and I don't use the two synths (yet!) 'cause of bed power circuits in the building the studio is right now. We're moving for ages now, but in a couple of weeks we should finnaly leave Hell and find a new place where we can (at least) plug all the equipment in. So, the question would be, what is the difference (in the use) between these two synths? I found on some web sites that if you have a DW8000, you don't really need a Poly800 because it's basically the same thing only bigger and with more possibilites. Is it? I won't be selling any equipment, only buying new stuff, but I tried some different sysex for the DW8000 and it seems really nice, still haven't tried tape dump with the Poly800, hope to find some nice presets there too. And then I will probably start programing them myself.... ___________________________________ Nuovo Yahoo!
