I did everything thats mentioned in the manual? >OK, maybe a hint? with the sysex stuff....maybe you've got a bad midi cable or something like that. try running the computer directly into the midi in of the EX800 with a different midi cable and see if you get anything different. maybe the patches are supposed to sound like that. with the tape stuff..make sure you've got a nice clear .wav file and make sure it's got an adequate "start" sound. the only other thing you can really do there is make sure you've got the level right. I don't remember exactly but it's supposed to indicate that it's recieving data.
