I am pretty sure Rush used a moog or an Oberheim for that. I am often after the same kind of sound. You can get close to it by playing with the 3rd envelope, the VCF/etc enveilope. But even then, the poly is gonna have a stairstepping to teh decay which wont be as smooth as the Rush tone you are speaking of. I haven't gotten around to the Moog Slayer but that might get you more in that direction. But no you don't need a slow LFO to get that. Just a long envelope on the VCF. --- genesisjoe2001 <caludaj@...> wrote: > > Hey gang, > Anyone know how to get the poly 800 to make that big > fat E bass > sweep sound at the beginning of Rush's Tom Sawyer? > I can't seem to get the resonance to sweep. > Is this impossible on the Poly 800? > Thanks for the help.... > Joe > > > > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
