Actually both are true......either_Or.....BUT the only battery that is wired directly to the RAM chip is the small internal Lithium 3v.....And since it does NOT have to supply the ENTIRE machine, as the Larger Batts DO .....( 'C' or'D' type...can't remember which...the large compartment that hold 6 or more -cells ) , then it can be expected to last much longer...5 years is typical......If wired differently, The whole Korgs drain would wipe it out in less than one hour ! ( ridiculous, since you cannot extract 5 volts the entire machine needs from 3 v) ...Refer Drawing...... Anyway.....I've wired many of these beasties myself, so I do know the above to be true ! Msg 565 ( or there-abouts ) on the KORGPOLYEX Group details more ... Cheers Dan --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software

Re: [korgpolyex] Hi, I'm new here. I think I know why the battery issue is confusing.
