Try to program some patches - the situation you describe is typical to a Poly
with erased memory & no patches... mess around with the different parameters
& see if you can get some sound out of it !

Yeah.....and especially try different Voice-Patch Number other than "11" !!!!!
You have the typical dead-to-non-existant-BATTERY, i.e. the Internal one
soldered to the Main Circuit Board, with the Processor.......what is required there
is the 3.5 Volt type....you can solder in its place, an Battery Holder so yu can change it out again, in the future. I've repaired several of these Machines, so if you
need further assistance, then reply......also, if you dig through the FILES and Pictures section of this GROUP, you can find the Manual and Schematics...
Cheers,
Dan

I had a similar thing happen, along with no display.
I'm suspecting the 5V regulator rather than the
battery. Would anyone know the callout (U-something or
Q-something)on the schematic, or whether it's a 7805
or what?

Hoping to revive it,

Last day of January !! :)
Well, he made no mention of the display being bad , right !?
Better hope there is 5 Volts developed within, cause its NOT just a simple Three-Terminal Regulator !!!
The internal power is a custom SWITCHER......supply that converts the raw input at the rear and regenerates a highly stable five volts...... I do not recommend any of you guys attempting repair of that......very tricky, I know I've repaired enough of those little beasties to forwarn you....!

Hello,

I also think you should try some soundpatches. If it won't work, you can find the service manual and the owners manual on the www.
(If not, I can mail it to you).

Best wishes,

Michael
