how about a Sony Playstation type joystick knob for the EX800, since it doesn't have one? doesn't stick too far out (also has additional click down action for???something else...) isn't the joystick used for entering parameter data on the poly800 mk1+2 kybd versions?

Q: isn't the joystick used for entering parameter data on the poly800 mk1+2 kybd versions? A: The joystick can be used to change programs and parameter data on the HAWK only. The originals don't do that. Mike ________________________________

I couldnt find a schematic for EX-500 on here, but I can't see why you couldnt add a 10K joystick into one. It probably has the same Main PCB as a Poly 800 M1. On a HAWK'd Poly 800, the pitchbend feature on the keyboard is disabled when the joystick is in parameter edit mode. So you cant edit a parameter and do a pitchbend at the same time. I don't know if Mike managed to keep/add joystick code in the EX800 version of HAWK software so it can read the voltages from a pair of pots. That's the key to making it happen more than anything, I'd think. - Blaine --- In korgpolyex@yahoogroups.com, "k9k9dog" <domgoold@...> wrote:

The HAWK is the same code in original Poly, EX-800 and MK2. So using POTS on the EX-800 is absolutely doable.
