Sorry, a EX800 Sysex question!

Sorry, a EX800 Sysex question!

2017-05-17 by sfoxon@...

Hi,

I am sure this is a very basic thing, but I don't know if it is working as it should. I am trying torquiest all of the program data from the EX800 ( not yet modded), but it only seems to be sending sequencer data, or certainly doesn't seem to be sending enough bytes! I am using MIDI OX and sending the request as 'F0 42 21 01 10 F7' but I only get back 256 bytes - and comparing it with the sysex file I use to dump the factory patches to the EX800, it doesn't't contain anywhere near as much data. Looking at the manual, that says that the RAM data for the sequencer is 256 bytes and the Program Data is 1345 (maybe I am reading into that wrongly?).

So, is there a slightly different command to send for the Program Data, or am I actually getting everything? The other strange thing is what is received doesn't end with F7 - should it?

Thanks and sorry for the basic question!

There must be some mistake in the manual - on the first page of
transmission SysEx explanation the request is as yours, but on the
next page in binary table it is F0 42 21 01 20 F7, which is described
in the first table as Data Error...

For finding the solution for similar problem with partial data block
try different MIDI interface, different software, different computer,
different MIDI cables.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
