That's a very general and sweeping statement. I know many black persons (including myself) who do not think that he's a "phoney". While I do not agree with everthing he says or does (finding much of it childish), I think that he does have talent. For the record, "Stan" is a brilliant piece of songwriting.  Too bad that most of his stuff isn't up to that standard.
