Hi Mr. Moore,

>The majority of Americans would disagree - at least the majority that
>voted for Gore. It is a fact that more Americans voted for Gore than for
>the grumpy C student.
I know these things. Unfortunately, many other people in the world do not.
Because ... Bush ended up as president anyway.

>I would take Clinton to be more typical of an
>enlightened American and Bush as remmant of the past. But thats just me.
I don't think it's just you, actually. I have met very many Americans who
feel exactly the same way.

>I find it insulting to attribute that idiot as an icon of our country.
I can understand why you would find it insulting. But ... is it not
understandable that foreigners should take the president as the icon and
symbol of the country?

>He actually lost the election by a fair reckoning.
>Those who did support
>him were the anti-abortion-is-the-only-issue crowd, and the greedy rich
>who want tax cuts .... oh and supreme court justices appointed by his
>father. The common people and intellectuals voted for Gore.

As above, I know that this is a commonly held opinion within the USA. But
... he became the president anyway!!
