According to some club owners I know, one of the things they look for is a cleared out area with no tables or chairs - evidence of willful dancing! And other dancefloor accoutremonts, like lighting. Basically, if it looks like you're condoning dancing. Some places that have a cleared out floor for live shows, like Contenental Divide, put up 'no dancing' signs, probably to appease the inspectors.
