Nothing to do with being working-class (although he was), one of my old
drummers would often disappear mid-song to get a beer at the bar, leaving
the flabbergasted band to muddle through alone. He'd normally get back in
time to count in the next number. The funny thing was that no-one ever
pulled him up about it. Scottish chap. Didnt last too long.
