Hendrik Jan Veenstra... > If you don't like a joke, then simply ignore it... Mark [something or other]... > please, I was joking ... Yavuz AKYAZICI... > May be it was just a joke. Dennis Gunn... > what is it about feminism that makes women didactic and humor illegal. If you folks think that humor is harmless, you aren't giving comedy the credit it's due. Should gay men ignore "fag" jokes, because they're just "jokes?" Yavuz AKYAZICI > I myself hate politically correct people. I've found that it is usually impossible to change people's minds on this subject... no amount of reaching out helps, so why bother? I couldn't care less what any of you think, whether you consider me or anyone else "politically correct" and therefore phony, self-righteous, prude, or whatever. I just don't like to see misogynist "humor" pass uncriticized, and I think that it's worth my time and typing to say "this is unacceptable," at least every once in a while, in the hopes that if ignoramuses encounter resistance to their ignorance, they'll flaunt it less often. Mark [something or other] is likely to keep making clumsy, crude cracks about Nazis, boring wives, and goodness knows what else to his personal acquaintances. On the LUG, though, I hope he'll keep his true colors hidden. -- Marvin Humphrey Mastering Engineer and Graphic Designer, emeritus Mr. Toad's, San Francisco, California, USA CD design website - http://marvin.mrtoads.com
