I was thinking about the Mackie 1202VLZ Pro, but it looks like I can get the Roland VM3100 VMixing Station for the same price, and the VM3100 for a bit more. In addition to being 24-bit digital mixers (with fx and recallable mixes), they have transport controls and with the sliders, I can have a poor man's Logic Control. So, the converters are better than my Audiowerks8, it is a control surface, recallable mixes, it has built-in fx... Should I do it, or will the Mackie sound better? Anybody have experience with these guys?> . .. hi smeet. i have a vm3100 which i was using as a sub-mixer going into a yamaha 01v digitally. (i used to have a mackie cr-1604 too) the mackie'generally sound good but if it is instant patch recall that you really want then the roland is the way to go. i've not as yet got seriously into the vm. i read enough of the manual (which is probably the worst one in the history of mankind!) to set up some channels which i would then route through to the 01v's and then sample but that was about it. i have found the vm much harder to get to grips with than the 01v's but i guess i haven't played with it enough to become familiar with it (at some point we'll be using it as a live sub-mixer so will have to brave the manual then!) i thought it might sit nicely as a poor man's logic control too, just that i don't have any space to put it near the workstation! not sure if this is helpful or not but there it is anyway! cheers alanx __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
