smeet asked: 1) Is the basic sound quality of the VM3100 noticably worse than the Mackie? Will I regret it if it is my ONLY mixer? ... i don't think it's necessarily worse. just that the cr-1604's i used to have had quite a nice sound to them (the old analogue v' digital argument). 2) I want my setup to be easy to just sit down and quickly lay some tracks down. Is the VM3100 going to make that difficult, or is it simple to use for simple stuff (plug my mic/guitar/bass in, hit record, and go)? ... i would guess that once you've got over the learning curve and know where everything is (i find it a bugger after the relative ease of the yamaha 01v to try to remember how to the simplest of tasks... but as i said, i've never *really* used it that much as of yet) it would become simpler to use. i still don't know if i'm actually recommending it or not though! it's a good mixer for the money... lot's of functions, just difficult to use. alanx __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
