I use FCP in a professional context every day. What do you want to know?
If you just need to capture edited footage from DV into your MAC and sync it
up in Logic you could capture over firewire at DV resolution and recompress
from within FCP to a size that Logic can handle. You could also use Media
Cleaner to recompress the video. This would give you more options and
presets.
After that the options of what you might want to to get very big, no matter
what software or platform you're using.

Is anyone actually using Final Cut Pro do capture footage for Logic? What
have you discovered regarding sizes and data rates?
