Its not really a matter of mac vs pc or numer of slots - just continue to work with what you have - 5.2 for Win will serve you (just as it would have in any case) for the next year. Beyond that - you will still have the same choices hardware- wise. But the CPU's and peripherals available will be faster better - in other words the choice down the road will be much more clear. In the meantime - make music.
