The Logic Off Topic list

On 2 separate systems now (O.S. 9.2.2) I get the message "This 
disc is unreadable by thiis computer..." and the choice of 
initialise or eject. 
Selecting initialise gets the dialogue "Unable to update disc as it 
is locked" 
Using brand new Apple DVD discs - ideas anyone?
