The problem is that this kid used his iPod every day for hours and Lord only knows how many times he re-charged it. The average user might get 3 - 4 (or more) years of life from an iPod (more than most people get from their Walkman, Discman, or their outdated Rio mp3 player they bought several years ago) so in my opinion he does not represent the general population. Yeah, it sucks to know the battery will crap out. But Apple will fix it for free if it happens in a year or you can buy an extended warranty. Honestly though, I think after a few years most people will buy a new one, like getting a new cell phone. Their becoming commodity (cell phones AND mp3 players). --- In logic-ot@yahoogroups.com, Murray McDowall <murraymc@m...> wrote: > You might want to read this: > > http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A16540-2003Dec19.html
