I couldn't be happier with my Audiophile 24/96 card. The latency is so
low that I routinely play softsynths in realtime without noticing any
delay (I use the Audiophile's MIDI I/O as well as audio I/O), and I
have zero stability issues (using the CoreAudio drivers in OS X; YMMV
if you're not using OS X yet).
