Song doesn't open in Logic 6.41

Occassionally a song will not open or crash the program. I've gotten around it by opening 
a previous version of the song but updating it is frustrating. Is their some way to open 
these songs? I'm using OS 10.3.8, dual 1GHz powerPC G4 processors and 1.5 GB SDRAM.
