The ModWheel reset has been a true PITA since virtual instruments were implemented in Logic. For plain MIDI instruments there's the "no reset" parameter in the instrument parameter box, but it's non existing for virtual instruments. Now, you can actually cable a standard MIDI instrument to a virtual instrument, but a) the "no reset" parameter never worked in that scenario (maybe it does in Logic 7? I'm only familiar with 6 - so maybe you should give it a try) and b) you'll lose the virtual instruments channel strip and/or automatic mixer selection. I completely fail to see how Logic is still treating virtual instruments like some "second class" of instruments. This is responsible for a lot of troubles (such as using multitimbral instruments) and all other hosts I know don't force you having to deal with any such limitations. But as said, I'd try the standard MIDI instrument > AUi cabling, maybe it's finally working in Logic 7 - even if I doubt it because there's quite a few old bugs and major annoyances that seem to never get fixed. Maybe Emapple is thinking that people are just used to them so they'll miss them in case anything was fixed. Oh and btw, the various reset preferences don't affect the ModWheel behaviour at all. The only thing doing so is the "no reset" parameter. - Sascha
