Nothing funny at all. I'm sure he's popular with the ladies. 

Perhaps years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Dickus, when they brought home their baby 
boy, considered "John Dickus" or "James Dickus",  maybe "Ian Dickus", 
"Cornilius J Dickus"...but no ... none of those had the right ring to 
them....until they happened upon the very commonly used name "Bigus" and 
the rest was history.
