My question regarding this is why use the ALT outs? Aren't the ALT outs post e.q. strip on the channel? I was under the impression that if you like to record dry then it's better to use the inserts on the back of the mixer as they are post pre-amp, pre e.q. on the channel strip. That way the signal you record is no e.q., just the mic pre. That's how the diagram is in the Mackie manual. Plus what about recording multiple instruments? Like drums. On my Mackie I only have ALT 3-4, so tracking multiple mics is not an option with that set up. I'm just curious as to what the advantage is of this set-up. If I'm missing something I would like to know about it!! Thanks!! --Roger
