Target

Hey this is totally OT, but I had several bad experiences with Target
(store in the US). I bought a cable and never opened it, and took it back
to the same store with the receipt and they refused to refund or store
credit because it was more than 90 days. I finally, asked to speak to the
manager and said "Here are hundreds of dollars in receipts I spend in
Target each month... and I present you with this $13 cable as gift to
demonstrate how much I disapprove of your policy" - so she takes the
cable and says thanks and walks away. No "i'm sorry sir", no "please let
me explain why we have this policy", much less "well I'll take care of
this, this time, but don't let it happen again". This was after standing
in line a number of times, and driving to different Targets - a big huge
waste of my time. There have been other incidents too - and in each case
they seem to have an arroganant 'to hell with the customer' attitude.

So I recommend doing annoying but legal things ... moving CDs to the
clothing department, and clothes to the housewares. Buying more than you
need, and frequent returns to make more paperwork. I don't condone
shoplifting or purposefully spilling drinks or cleaning supplies in the
aisles, opening CD packages but not buying them, etc. But what else can
you do? If you were to say "I won't shop here anymore" they'll laugh in
your face - where are you going to go? Walmart?

Case for that Nader dude, isn't it? :-). Don't know about the US, but
here in the Netherlands I think you will have your money back, if you
return the goods within 30 days. It's regulated by law.
Yoonchi.
