spdif is the consumer digital connector (looks like an rca jack)
and aes/ebu is the more reliable and robust pro digital
connector (xlr connector) both are pro quality in my opinion. you
wont be able to use any analogue signals with either of them.

Hi,

SPDIF and AES\EBU are digital formats. You cannot use them for sending to analog effect processors, only to other digital devices. The jack for SPDIF may look like a mono RCA jack but it brings both left and right stereo channel, digitally.

    Hi,
Would someone be so kind as to explain these connections to me? How do
you use SPDIF or AES\EBU? I'm not familiar with these. I'm only used to ADAT
  optical and analog.
I'm waiting for the Multiface I ordered and I was wondering if I could
use the SPDIF in's and out's to send signals to an analog effetcs processer?
Is there a converter you have to buy to split it in stereo? Is it similar to
RCA jacks? Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this issue.
     Thanks!! --Roger

SPDIF-AES/EBU

Hi,
Would someone be so kind as to explain these connections to me? How do
you use SPDIF or AES\EBU? I'm not familiar with these. I'm only used to ADAT
optical and analog.
I'm waiting for the Multiface I ordered and I was wondering if I could
use the SPDIF in's and out's to send signals to an analog effetcs processer?
Is there a converter you have to buy to split it in stereo? Is it similar to
RCA jacks? Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this issue.
   Thanks!! --Roger
