It depends on what you want and what you need. If you only do midi, then 
3.72 is most likely still a very good version.
However, if any audio is used, then 5.0 really beats any other version. 
I forgot all 3.72 to 5.0 updates on midi matters, but all the audio 
features really come to mind.
AND don't forget that most likely Emagic will continue its policy of 
letting us pay for 5.0 update, but then giving us many more free 
updates. I can't wait to have multi undo with a history and multi 
outputs on VST instruments etc.

I don't think so personally.

The best thing is to wait a while, like 6 months IMHO.  I probably won't
follow my own advice, but anyway that's a whole other matter.

I'm sticking to 4.5 because it does what I need it to do- and a later
version would probably need me to upgrade my computer.
