The Logic Off Topic list

I've been using Logic 4.5 on a 600Mhz PC for a while now. Recently; 
I've been collaborating with other Logic users coming from a Mac 
background. The PC handles itself perfectly fine for multitrack 
recording and the like; but for offline tasks (rendering multiple 
fades for example) the Maccies are always groaning and complaining 
about 'how long it takes'.

Is the Mac (predominantly G3) really all that much faster or are they 
winding me up with a biased point of view?

(I pride myself on having one of the few studios in Hong Kong with a 
PC as the main computer - what am I missing out on? I've never used 
Macs & I guess there is a phobia towards changing; but is it worth my 
while? Does Logic 'run better' than the PC version?)
