Fdisk doesnt format a drive. 'Format' formats the drive (ie the dos command)
Fdisks prepares the disk for formatting as either a primary or logical disk.

There is an apple extension that allows the drive to be recognised if formatted to FAT16.

You cannot have a Mac and a PC simultaneously connected as the SCSI cards in each will have the same scsi ID.

Best way is to use CDR, or set up a FTP server on your network (we do this).
Aside from that try zip disks/jaz disks and have a drive on each.
Natively the Mac will read PC disks (with the PC Exchange extension mentioned before), or you can buy Trans Mac.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
