Its makes pure sense to me the way Outlook handles replies. I can edit the
quoted section and type my reply (just as i am doing here) with ease and
speed.

Hardly. It is absolutely logical in my mind to place the cursor at the top
of a reply. I may want to preface the quote with some words etc. Doesnt
placing the cursor at the bottom of the quote encourage untrimmed quotes in
messages just the same as top posting?
Personally i find Outlook to be the best mail/life organiser ever made!
People can just be lazy - simple!
