Now thats simmilar to an idea I had years ago-

but what about a Valve (tube) soundcard????

as a guitarist I believe valves are the way forward in professional
soundcard inputs.

cheers

No. Definitely not.
A Soundcard shall not change the sound. It has to be totally neutral. To
achieve this with tubes, it would be way too expensive. If someone wants
"tube sound", he can use a (real) tube preamp or whatever he needs.

BTW. I use the POD for playing live (as a preamp connected to the line in
of my all tube combo), because it sounds better than the tube preamp
section of my 1000 $ combo. I hate this fact, because I am conservative in
my guitar equipment, but what´s better is better. (I can´t afford real
expensive gear like mesa boogie rectifier or dumble, and they would give me
one or two sounds only, so what?)

Yours, Tobias
