Does it have something to do with MS/Apple agreements?

Does it have something to do with Apple developing software in order 
to sell hardware (this was always the model with Digi/Avid)?

who knows?

but I bet it has to do with both of the above

place the question there or do a google search on the archives

Makes me think even more that Applemagic are going to make their own
firewire device- as I detailed in my earlier post.
