Don't own the P2B myself but you could try the Asus newsgroup:
alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.asus
(online at:
http://www.deja.com/[ST_rn=fs]/group/alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.asus )

There's also Asus' own forum - 'NetQ', I think, at their own site.

Subject: [L-OT] Help with Asus P2B processor upgrade

  Hi P2B/LAWP users!

  I'm presently running LAWP/2408 MK II on ASUS P2B/ Windows 98/ P II 350/
  256 RAM/ 6 gig (prog.) /30 gig Maxtor ( Audio).

Everything is running well but since I whant to use softsynths in the
  future, I whant to upgrade my P II 350 to a P III 800.

  According to Asus, (www.asus.com/products/techref/chipset/p3cpu.html)
I will have to flash the BIOS (presently 1006) to 1011 or later...fine,
but they say that I need "PCB Revision R1.12 or later."

How do I check the PCB revision?

I checked at boot-up, checked on the ASUS shipping box, checked in the
  manual,
checked on the board itself...??? ;(

  Thank you for any help...

  André

Simply have a look on the surface of the motherboard, it will be clearly
marked with a rev.

I still say it will be there somewhere. If it is a PCB rev then it has to be
marked on the PCB somewhere.

The board will be marked at about the center with the P2B-? model
number,, the revision is on the right and just below of that
marking,,,I also have a P2B-S that I run with Logic and I am quite
happy with it,, I run a PII 400 overclocked to 448 and it runs all my
synths fine,,I also made contact with ASUS and they told me that the
motherboard will only handle up to a PIII 600 and that all their BIOS
for this board will not go over that,, I hope that your info os
coorect since I would not mind going up to an 800 if possible,,,
Please make contact with me at my email so we can help eachother out
on upgrading,, Laters
