ESB TDM PROBLEM

ESB TDM PROBLEM

2002-09-30 by gramjess2002

I am running on MAC OS 9.2 with
ESBTDM is running in demo mode... I initiated DTDM in the audio
hardware & drivers menu... as far as I understand it, audio
tracks/instruments' signals assigned to DTDM should be sent to my
digidesign interface outputs... however, I have not been able to
achieve this at all... I assign an audio instrument, say, evp-88, to
DTDM... play in the part... NO audio output from my 96 I/O... NO
signal indicated on the meters within the logic mixer... same happens
if I import an audio file into a track assigned to DTDM... NO audio
output from my 96 I/O... NO signal indicated on the meters within the
logic mixer...what am I missing here??? please get me some help, as I
have obviously misunderstood how the thing is supposed to work, or
have not set it up properly?? it seems a really simple thing, but it's
just NOT WORKING...system is as follows:
Mac G4-400 (processor hot-rodded to 600 MHz)... 3rd generation ADP
4-slot G4
768MB RAM
Miro DC-30 video capture card w/Adobe Premiere 5.1 LE
ATTO dual SCSI card... running ATTO Express ProTools 2.8.1
40GB internal IDE (boot drive)
80GB internal drives IDE x2
4x 9GB ext SCSI drives
AMT-8 on USB (2x daisy-chained)
EMI 2/6 on USB (running EASI driver ver 2.0)
Logic Audio 5.3 w/PTHD ext... running OMS 2.3.8... various Emagic &
VST
instruments/plug-ins...
Protools 5.3...
PTools HD2 system in MAGMA expansion chassis
SampleCell card in MAGMA chassis
2x Digidesign 96 I/O interfaces
HP Deskjet 990cxi printer on USB
using mac 56K internal modem

Any Advice welcome

You might try posting this in the Logic-TDM list, dedicated to TDM
issues such as this... Logic-OT is more for totally-unrelated-to-
Logic issues.

Assign the instruments to two outputs, then in your TDM mixer create an Aux
channel and insert ESB on if, assigning it to the outputs used for the
evp88. As far as I am aware, only the TDM mixer can access the TDM
hardware, reguardless of the audio engine you are using. Someone correct me
if I'm wrong.

so.....
after you've created your DTDM audio-tracks:
1) create a new audio object with the DAE device driver assignment,
2) make that new object a (mon/stereo, as you wish) AUX,
3) on THIS object, open ESB on the insert and, when it's open, choose the
DTDM inputs ye desire to send through yer PT-rig.....

if yer having problems translating older native Logic-songs *with* plug-ins
intact into DTDM tracks, just ask.....

it's not properly explained, anywhere, in the english language.

It's definitely not -- for some reason Gramjess chose to post the question
here instead of in one of the other lists?
