I suspect the right internship or real world experience may outweigh a
lot of the benefits of an academic environment. That said, I get
internship requests all the time from Fullsail which suggests to me that
they push intern placing rather aggressively. I think that may be a
good thing.

I also know a few people in the Chicago area. One of them went to an
engineering school and though the name escapes me this instant, he seems
to have liked it. If you like I can inquire or maybe even put you in
touch (assuming you aren't a psychopath :-) ).

best, Nathan

Please respond to me privately if you are interested as I don't read
the OT list.

Hi Brent,

I figure it's all a matter of what do you want to do. If you want to make music, go to music school. If you want to be a recording engineer then go to a recording school. Berklee to some degree offers both. I don't know if Full Sail offers any music, I suspect not.

You mentioned being naturally a musician. I disagree. I've always had a good ear, but there's a good reason why they teach music theory and performance. I was a self taught pianist for some time. When I decided to take lessons for a time it made a major difference in my technique. I play
faster and better now (when I practice). As for learning theory, I loved it, every second of it. I finally understood enough to get adventurous.

So decide if you want to be a musician or engineer. Good luck.
