hi, i notice in the bias advert you feature in that you're sporting a rather unusual looking guitar, if you have a moment or two would you mind telling me about it? cheers, andy.

So I haven´t seen the advert. But I think to know that he now plays Teuffel guitars, in his case the birdfish. So check out: http://www.teuffelguitars.com for further information. I hope I´m not wrong with my suggestion. As I mentioned before, I have never seen the advert. Cheers Achim -- achim lindermeir www.schaltraum.com

andy, >i notice in the bias advert you feature in that you're sporting a >rather unusual looking guitar, if you have a moment or two would >you mind telling me about it? i play (2 different, custom) TESLA model gtrs, made by ULLI TEUFFEL; one is glow-in-the-dark green, one is charcoal. the green one: birdseye maple (1-piece) neck, alder body. the charcoal one: birdseye maple neck, ebony fingerboard, alder body w/ash 'wedge' in the neck running from the body-join to the bridge. both instruments are: 'headless' 25.5 inch scale-length, w/gibson string-spacing and Steinberger TransTrem bridges. each has: a) 2 passive pickups, made by ulli teuffel: green: strat-type at neck, warm humbucker at bridge charcoal: p-90 type at neck, overwound humbucker at bridge b) 2 microphones, each w/an attendant momentary switch (and, microphone # 2 has a fixed toggle switch, as well): mic #1: face-mounted (visible) salt-shaker mic #2: internally-mounted under neck pickup (green gtr) and bridge pickup (charcoal gtr) c) one (normal guitar) output d) one input, w/an attendant momentary switch e) 1 volume and 1 tone control f) a momentary 60-cycle hum switch, w/an attendant momentary switch g) a momentary on/off switch h) pickup selector *all* the momentary switches are the 'wafer'-type (some split in half) that ulli has designed/integrated as flush-mounting in the guitar's faces. these two instruments sound very different from each other; both are *wonderful*, responsive..... and suitably wackassed..... i use them both w/logic, btw..... *-)) best, dt / splattercell see: http://www.teuffelguitars.de/instrumente/tesla/index_e.html

>see: >http://www.teuffelguitars.de/instrumente/tesla/index_e.html > I don't know about the exact one you play but the ones on that site though they are all very beautiful look uncomfortable to play for someone like myself who is accustomed to resting his forearm across top of a strat or tele. I once thought I would able to get used to not doing that and made my own short bodied headless. It turned out that it never was as comfortable to me as a plain old strat. I think the original strat design was one of the greatest bits of industrial art of the 20th century both for it's sexy lines and stripped down functionality.

dg, hey! re: the teuffel tesla: >I don't know about the exact one you play teslas. >but the ones on that site >though they are all very beautiful look uncomfortable to play for >someone like myself who is accustomed to resting his forearm across >top of a strat or tele. the tesla is much more balanced than any guitar i've used, except for the klein electrics; the body-design is, in fact, very ergonomic. plenty of forearm-resting room, there..... much more than a strat/lespaul/etc. >I once thought I would able to get used to >not doing that and made my own short bodied headless. It turned out >that it never was as comfortable to me as a plain old strat. to each their own, eh? but: ya might wanna judge the tesla (better) by trying one..... >I >think the original strat design was one of the greatest bits of >industrial art of the 20th century both for it's sexy lines and >stripped down functionality. me, too. (i still have one, though i never play it. and a '65 mustang, etc). that, however, does definitely not (in my experience) preclude the inevitable development of guitar-design..... in which i remain remarkably interested and supportive of those luthiers (ned steinberger, steve klein, ulli teuffel, andreas, etc) who pursue that evolution. best, dt / splattercell
