The Logic Off Topic list

Well, now I think this OT on OT discussions is getting as ridiculous as our
Israel/Palestina thread. LOL! So, from now on the topics in Off Topic has to
be pre-approved prior to posting? Well, then what other matters is "too" OT
or even "way too" OT then?

After we noted that someone got offended by our thread, we stopped.
I must say I think it is rather arrogant to sign up to a OT list and start
complaining about topics being too OT. If you start cencoring the OT list on
topics, you could just as well shut it down. When Tobias sent his complaint
I honestly think he was unaware that it was from L-OT that he got all the
messages and not LUG. (Hopefully).

When I signed up to the L-OT I thought it was meant for users of the LUG
wanting to discuss topics with other LUGers on topics other than Logic.
Remember, this is a community. If I wanted to discuss politics all day long
I'd signed up on a political list, but I want to discuss with LUGers and the
topic of the day happened to be political.

I think what you need to define is what the *logic* in the logic-ot means.
Does it mean OT related to Logic or OT related to LUG. I for one signed up
because I thought it was related to LUG, not logic.

...and still, this "political" topic started with Peter Gabriel using Logic
and his sanctions against Israel.

This topic of questioning the admin is no doubt off-topic.

Sorry to dissapoint you - I am subscribed to both lists and able to
distinguish where every mail comes from.
I still hope L-OT will serve as a useful tool for Logic related questions.

I talk about politics with my girlfriend or at the local pub. There´s still
the net with zillions of chatrooms and newsgroups.

Let´s keep logic related lists related to logic.
