presumably most of you are on topic too.

i'm seriously tired of scanning the logic list at yahoo. i think the
people and the spirit of the thing is marvelous. however, the fact
that it's based at yahoo with all that that entails is pissing me off
to the point that i barely bother going there, and here, any more. if
that's how i feel, others are feeling it too.

i'd like to have each topic self contained in it's own thread - like
every response to this post would show up as only the one topic
but with any responses contained within the one topic thread -
you'd have to click on the topic to access the answer or to submit
your response.

also, as a surfer and non email receiver i find the advertising at
yahoo extremely objectionable.

i hope i'm not alone.

andy.

If you use e-mail you don't have to deal with the ads. You can also use a
threaded e-mail client instead of Outlook and all the topics will threaded
by subject. Just something to keep in mind.

I haven't used an e-mail client on a mac in at least 6 years so I haven't
looked into it. Pegasus rings a bell, but I may be thinking of something else.

I may not by fully grasping the concept of threaded and I know some here
will not use an MS product but I have folders in Outlook Express that I have
set to view as "Threaded" where my non-digest list messages go. I'd be
curious to know if there is another definition of threaded that I am
missing.

Thanks

By threaded I mean like a news client, where all replies to a message are
grouped with that message. Thus you can just click on that subject and
every reply to it will be a subcategory of it. Most mail clients just list
e-mails individually. I certainly wish Eudora had threading as I like it a
lot. Windows XP is enough of a security nightmare even without Outlook
Express unfortunately, and I am still trying to patch holes (which often
requires 3rd party software, and disabling 100's of services that are just
asking for trouble).

Is there some confusion here between the attributes of a web site ,as in
threaded messages , the abilities or non abilities of yahoo and the
functions that are performed by a mail browser... microsoft of non
microsoft.. BTW as far as support is concerned , in my experience microsoft
is second to none .

ok....

Highlandsource:
I just checked and Outlook Express does do threaded view. So, get your
emails in non-digest mode (on a Mac) and go in the view menu and check
"threaded"

I guess while stuck in your anti Micro-suck mentality you actually never
bothered to check out the software before you made an opinion, huh, young
boy.... not that I love Microsoft, just don't care as long as the software
works like it should.

with a smile as always,
