thanks a lot. i have heard some good opinions about rme, but i didnt know,
how it works with logic audio (i have heard it's optimized for cubase). i
think i'll buy this one, but... have you ever heard about Lynx Two? i've
just read a comparison of rme and lynx: rme's dynamic range is 108, and
lynx' dynamic range is 116 dB. The prices are similar, and lynx two can work
(A/D/A) with 24 bit/192 KHz!!! it's unbeliveable, because it's A/D/A
coverters are inside of the the computer, on PCI card, not in external audio
interface! it looks non-professional, but it works!!! but i dont know, how
it works with logic (i dont know lynx' ASIO drivers...)...
does anybody know?
thanks once again.

Some people who know what they are talking about say that RME Hammerfall
series works even better in Cubase.

I have read about the Lynx stuff before (on their site) and the audio
specs look very impressive. There are higher end RME audio interfaces (ADI
series all the way up to DS) which match the S/N of the Lynx. I have not
seen any reports of how they work with the ASIO driver in Logic/Cubase and
with standalone Virtual instruments many of which use ASIO.

Lots of companies make audio hardware but only some companies make stuff
that works without clicks and pops in systems with heavily laden CPU and
lots of PCI bus traffic. The other thing to bear in mind is that you want
your company to still be there writing solid drivers for future OS updates
some years down the track.

As a consumer it can be hard to judge -- look at Korg's Oasys card - a big
company, lots of users love the Oasys but there are no Win2000 or XP
drivers -- nor will there be. Several audio interface building companies
went belly up over the last few years leaving the ones that worked properly
still standing.
