Well I did precisely that when upgrading my "bronze key" 333 powerbooks' 
drive. However, did you try that backup utility by intego I suggested before? 
I don't know becuase I haven't used it, but I read in a magazine that it will 
make bootable disks... evidently there is a shit load of helper files, 
possiblely invisible  - for OSX.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
